llms.txt generator

Write a short, plain description of your business and point AI assistants to the pages that matter. Fill in the form; the file builds as you type. Nothing you enter leaves your browser.

One or two plain sentences: what you do, for whom, and where.

Facts an assistant should get right: services, areas served, prices, opening hours. Separate paragraphs with a blank line.

What llms.txt is, and what it is not

  • A summary written for machines

llms.txt is a proposed standard: a Markdown file at the root of your site with a one-line summary and links to your key pages, so an assistant can read the essentials without crawling everything.

  • Cheap to add, not a ranking switch

Support across AI engines is still uneven, so treat it as a small, free improvement. Structured data, clear answers on your pages and being cited by trusted sources matter more.

  • Keep it true and current

Assistants repeat what they read. Use the same name, prices and service areas as your website, and update the file when they change.

Questions people ask

Where do I put llms.txt?

At the root of your domain, so it opens at yourbusiness.com/llms.txt. On WordPress, upload it with your host’s file manager or an SEO plugin that supports it; on other platforms, ask your developer to place it next to robots.txt.

Does llms.txt make ChatGPT recommend me?

No single file does. llms.txt helps assistants that read it understand your site quickly. Whether you are named depends far more on what your pages say and which trusted sites mention you.

Do you store what I type?

No. The file is built in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers.

What is the Optional section for?

The llmstxt.org format reserves a section called Optional for secondary links an assistant can skip when it needs a shorter context, such as press pages or archives.
